27 Feb 2013

Quack, quack, water off my back!

26Feb2013

Forgetful. Would you rather be forgetful or regretful?

25Feb2013

One can only gain knowledge from tests and experiments.

24Feb2013

Time is a man made concept. It flows, sometimes fast, sometimes slow- most often in the opposite speed we'd like.

23Feb2013

Some days you just melt.

22Feb2013

It's the little things that count most, both negative and positive though I try to reflect on the positive like the overjoyed couple whom loved three olives in their Bloody Mary's.

21Feb2013

"Smile Like You Mean It" Originally by the Killers, I tend to sing a cover from The OC soundtrack (the cover artist's name escapes me now) while at work... A lot.

20Feb2013

"You can't follow your heart if your head is stuck in survival mode." Something I've been struggling with a lot lately. Am I living, or just surviving? Recently I really think it's the latter.

February

February thus far.

January

A new year means bigger and better paper apparently.

December

Month three. In the future I might document each one by itself. Maybe.

November

Month two has a couple of favorites.

October

The month of October was the first month. Initially I had the idea to sew all of the One A Days into a book, and them I went three dimensional with some of them so I have no idea how I might condense them down in the future. Whoops.

Also, I do realize that my cell phone's camera is not the best way to document these, but it is the most efficient way to post them. Ask the more reason to come to my studio and see them in person!

What is a One A Day?

I am currently a Post Bacc student at SMFA (The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston) who doesn't have a whole lot of time due to course and work schedules. During my first month at SMFA, I realized how short on time I tend to be and thought "No bueno, how will I produce work outside of class assignments?" Then the One A Day idea hit me snd I started in October of 2012. I make a small piece of work (on the same size paper) for everyday based on an event, thought, or feeling. Sometimes they suck snd sometimes I get behind, but generally I like them. I'm not sure where I'm going with them, I may use some of them as sketches for larger works, I may not. A week or so ago I decided to make a blog with them, hopefully I'll be posting every day.
