Watched "The Rape of Europa" today, what a downer. I thought it odd that the part that really got to me was Howe the Nazis simply threw Tchaikovsky's original manuscripts to the wind.

While getting to know a fellow grad student, he kept saying certain things about himself shock other people. I admitted to being surprised, but refrained from using the term shocked- it seems to have a negative connotation in this context. I wonder if other purple feel that way or if anything about me shocks people.

Chinese New Year Celebration with my first graders at Josiah Quincy Elementary school today, awesome stuff. The Chinese have a lot of awesome New Year traditions- I love learning about other cultures!
